They brave the elements to have a look at the geological feature which gives Marble Bar its name. The hottest town in the Pilbara welcomes the boys with a cold and windy southern ocean front. The boys are awed by the the spectacular beauty of Tunnel Creek where they are dwarfed (or is that ‘hobbited’?) by the immense rock formations. Jase finds Simon on his beach towel down by the swimming hole… where the freshies swim!īack in the trucks, Jase has one more destination he wants to visit while they’re out playing tourists. Simon decides to tick one off the list with a small detour to Bandilngan (Windjana Gorge). Though they’ve travelled this way before, there are still some bucket list stops they haven’t made.
Jase and Simon are hitting the road again and are heading to one of their favourite areas out in Western Australia with some new spots to explore along the way including a start to the series in the incredible Bungle Bungles. There’s time for a quick coffee before putting their rigs to the test, because the only way out is up. It’s too cold for a swim, so they test their skipping skills. Out come the high-lift jacks, and the boys do a little landscaping to get some rocks back under the wheels.Īfter a night in the gorge, the crew heads over to Stuart’s Pool. Going down is the easy until Simon gets hung up with the caravan. But don’t forget: what goes down must come back up! They walk the steep descent to get a feel for their wheel placements. There’s one more destination for the boys to get to on this leg of the journey with a rocky path to navigate which is a bit of fun. A dip in the hot springs hits the spot before Jase cooks up a new recipe he’s come up with for an old favourite, Jaffle Iron Jam Donuts. Jump ups, holes and bumps are a challenge with a reward at the end. The next morning, they’re off for another drive though some rocky country. And while they don’t reel in any prize winners, Kiel has an offer for them to redeem themselves in the not-too-distant future. The ‘secret’ is… no motors allowed in this waterhole, so they craft some make-shift paddles and take the tinny out to see if any barra are on the bite. They’re on their way to meet up with a mate who has a secret spot to show the boys. An unexpected river crossing adds a bit of fun once they’ve aired down. They’ve got the time, because it’s a bit slow going through this area they liken to a mini Grand Canyon or the Wild West. Jase and Simon are heading through the Pilbara and soaking in the landscape.
